KARACHI: Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Micheal has said that effective and practical steps are being taken for the development of shipping industry while improvement work of channels and dragging will also start from next month.
He was speaking with a delegation of organizing committee of 3rd Logistic, Shipping and Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition being held on October 10 here, said a statement on Saturday.
The delegation comprised of Chairman Organizing Committee Naeem Qureshi, Advisor Atiq Ur Rehman and Project Head Mehmood Tareen, called on the Minister in PNSC building here.
On the occasion, Mehmood Tareen apprised the Minister that all stakeholders are actively participating in this mega event while more than 20 international delegates are expected to attend the event.
Foreign delegates will also speak about the advancements of logistics, supply chain and shipping.
Speakers and experts will include Chairman Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Chairman Karachi Port Trust, Chairman PSSA,PIFFA,ACAAPA, SCAP, Tariq Rangoon wala, Moin Malik CEO Agility,CEO IPDF, Hanif Idress CFO DHL ,Former DG ports Capt Anwer Shah,Zubair Motiwala Chairman SBOI and others.
The delegation informed the Minister that organizations will also be honored with Green Supply Chain Award on their best practices.
