imageKARACHI: All eligible voters unable to personally cast their vote in their designated polling station, due to their professional responsibilities must apply to the Election Commission for "postal ballot" option by April 15.

Resident Director, Aurat Foundation-Sindh, Mehnaz Rehman said here Thursday that inability of voters to personally cast their votes in the May 11 polls, due to absence from their respective constituency does not deprive them of their right to vote.

"Many of these voters, including both men and women are assigned responsibility in polling stations far away for their original one or may be residing in cities other than places where they may be registered as voters," she said.

In the given situations or similar conditions voters have every right to make use of postal ballot, said the activist.

Mehnaz Rehman said that to facilitate the women voters as well as women candidates contesting from different constituencies in the Sindh, Aurat Foundation has constituted a "Gender Monitoring Cell."

Women facing any problem in acquiring their right of postal ballot can approach the cell, she said mentioning that all relevant problems can be registered with the cell.
