ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Petroleum & Natural Resources on Wednesday expressed their dismay over the performance of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) and observed that the Company could not achieve its set targets, which resulted into millions of loss as the many projects remained incomplete and ultimately the poor masses were the victim of Company's apathy.
The NA body met here under the chairmanship of Engineer Muhammad Tariq Khattak to review the gas development projects of Parliamentarians.
However, a Member from Sindh Province expressed his satisfaction over the Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. (SSGCL) performance, as the Company successfully completed almost all the gas projects.
The Committee also reviewed the recruitment made by OGPCL and PSO during the last five months and pointed out many irregularities committed by the Management.
The Committee termed the recruitment process carried out by OGDCL management, as non-transparent; as the Company left many loopholes while appointing the candidates on contractual basis against deceased quota.
The Committee also directed Deputy M.D OGDCL to hold an inquiry into the issue of uniform regularization policy, as some Junior Officers of OGDCL were regularized and were made seniors; despite the fact that they were recruited five years later.
The meeting was attended by Rana Afzaal Hussain, Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Ch. Asghar Ali Jatt, Syed Haider All Shah, Nawab Muhammad Yusuf Talpur and officials of Ministry of P&NR, PSO, SNGPL, SSGCL and OGDCL.
