LONDON: US gold futures rose more than 1 percent on Monday to a session high at $1,592 an ounce, as rising stock markets and a retreat in the dollar helped the metal rally after last week's hefty losses.

US gold futures for December delivery were up 1.1 percent at $1,590.20 at 0838 GMT. Spot gold was up 0.65 percent at $1,590.56 an ounce.
