Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Four ships C.V Dubai Express, C.V City of Beijing, M.T Al- Salam-II and M.T Fuji Galaxy carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday., port sources said here Friday.
Two more ships scheduled to load/ offload cement and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at the Port at fifty percent on Thursday where eight ships namely C.V Dubai Express, C.V City of Beijing, M.V Thelsis, M.V Dynamic Ocean, M.V HR Margartha, M.V Tai Hawk, M.T Fuji Galaxy and M.T Al- Salam-II were occupying berths at PQA to load/ offload containers, cement, rice, iron ore pellets, palm oil and diesel oil and during the last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 107,933 tonnes comprising 69,074 tonnes imports and 38,859 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 3,189 containers (1,765 imports and 1,424 exports TEUs) which was handled at the Port.
Three ships C.V Dubai Express, C.V City of Beijing and M.T Fuji Galaxy sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
Two ships M.V African Eagle and M.T Bhairavi scheduled to load/ offload 12,815 tonnes cement and 7,619 tonnes chemicals are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Friday, while C.V MSC Sena is due to arrive at Port Qasim the same day.
M.C BBC Flourada and C.V Cope Flowers are due to arrive on Saturday, and M.V Aurora-B is due to arrive on Sunday.
