Shipping activity at Port Qasim

port-shippingKARACHI: Three ships C.V CMA CGM Wagner, M.T Chemroad Mega and M.T Gas Esco carrying containers, palm oil and LPG were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Wednesday, according to port sources here on Thursday.

 

Meanwhile another container ship CMA CGM Eiffel also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

 

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 29pc on Wednesday where four ships namely C.V CMA CGM Wagner, M.V Liberty Eagle, M.T Bhairavi and M.T Gas Esco are currently occupying berths to load/offload container wheat, rice, chemical and furnace oil.

 

A cargo volume of 48,407 tonnes, comprising 29,181 tonnes imports and 19,226 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,438 containers (869 imports and 569 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.

 

Two ships C.V CMA CGM Wagner and M.T Gas Esco sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while another ships M.V Liberty Eagle is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

 

Three ships C.V CGM Eiffel, C.V Michaelas and M.V Star Eracle carrying container and fertiliser are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Grain and Fertiliser Terminal respectively on Thursday, while two more container ships MSC England and Lantau Arrow are due arrive at Port Qasim on Friday, and an oil vessel Akakai is due to arrive on Saturday.
