LONDON: The euro rose to its highest in six weeks against the Swiss franc on Tuesday, continuing the previous day's rise when Switzerland's largest banks said they would charge for some franc deposits.
The euro rose 0.2 precent to 1.2116 francs, according to data from trading platform EBS, its highest since Oct. 18, with traders saying it extended gains after stop loss buy orders were triggered on the break above 1.2100 francs.
Traders reported talk of a Swiss bank selling Swiss francs against the euro.
