Angolan oil exports steady at 1.67mn bpd in November

Published Updated

crude-oilLONDON: Angola is due to export around 1.67 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil in November, little changed from the initial loading schedule for October, a preliminary export programme showed on Monday.

Fifty-two cargoes are due to load a total of 49.96 million barrels from Angolan export terminals in November, the preliminary programme showed.

Preliminary crude oil export programmes are published well ahead of loading dates and are subject to change.

Angola's loading programme for October has been augmented since the initial schedule was released a month ago with the addition of three extra cargoes, bringing the expected average for October to around 1.71 million bpd.

Exports for September have been running at a 15-month low at around 1.57 million bpd due to maintenance work and after the imposition of a force majeure by Total SA on loadings of its Girassol grade.

Angola is Africa's second-largest producer, behind fellow OPEC member Nigeria. Its exports briefly rivalled Nigeria's in early 2010 but have since fallen back due to a natural decline at some fields and maintenance work.
