pakistan-flagLAHORE: A delegation of Pakistani parliamentarians and businessmen is leaving for New Delhi and Patna, India, on August 22 to participate in the fourth round of India-Pakistan Parliamentarians Dialogue.

The delegates will cross over to India on foot via Wahga Border on 22 Aug at 9:30am under the leadership of Senator Jahangir Badr, Irfan Khokhar a participant of the delegation told APP here on Wednesday.

During their stay in India, the delegates will hold talks with their Indian counterparts on improvement in bilateral relations and promotion of bilateral trade between the two countries. The visit is highly significant in the backdrop of India's decision to allow Pakistanis to invest in India.

The delegation has representation of parliamentarians from the ruling alliance as well as opposition parties. Business leaders are also accompanying political leaders to help pinpoint problem areas and work out ways to facilitate enhanced mutual trade, investments and visa policy.

The hosts include the Indian government and the World Punjabi Organisation (WPO), under the leadership of its President Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney. They will hold a series of luncheons and dinners in the honour of the delegates.

The delegates include Senators Sabir Ali Baloch (Deputy Chairman, Senate of Pakistan), Mrs. Saeeda Iqbal, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Haji Muhammad Adeel and MNAs Faisal Karim Kundi, Mian Abdus Sattar, Nadeem Afzal Gondal, Nafisa Shah, Shazia Marri, Ramesh Lal, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Mir Amer Ali Khan Magsi, Anusha Rehman Khan, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan and Zahid Hamid. Iftikhar Malik (Vice President SAARC Chamber & Commerce Industry, Pakistan) and Ali Bader (Vice Chairman of SAARC Chamber young Entrepreneur Forum) will represent the country's business community in meetings with Indian politicians and businessmen. Ahmed Bilal Mehboob, Executive Director, Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) will also be part of the delegation.

The delegates will return Lahore on August 26 in the afternoon via Wahga Border.
