KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where two ships carrying containers and LPG were allotted berths at Qosim International Container Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Sunday, July 15. Meanwhile two more ships with containers and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 21.4% on Sunday where three ships namely C.V Maersk Utah. M.T Gas Elixir and M.T Harsandi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, LPG and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 42,313 tonnes comprises 27,759 tennes imports and 14,554 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1977 containers (1,211 imports and 766 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two ships C.V Maersk Ulah and M.T Gas Elixir sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship M.T Harsandi is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Three ships C.V Asian Trade, C.V MSC Jade and M.T FPMC Fortune carrying containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Mondoy, 16th July. Four ships C.V Nedlloya Mercator, C.V CMA CGM Mozart, C.V Hanjin Malta and M.T AL-Khalidiah are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday. 17th July , while two more ships C.V CMA CGM Strauss and M.T AI-Salam-II are due to arrive on Wednesday, 18th July, 2012.
