Pakistan's import of pulses grew by 9 percent to $428.763 million during July-Mar 2019-20, official figures say.

Up by $35.405 million during July-Mar 2019-20, pulses import was $393.358 million during July-Mar 2018-19, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.

In term of volume, pulses import surged by 15.04 percent or 110,921 metric tonnes to 848,472 metric tonnes in July-Mar 2019-20 from 737,551 metric tonnes in July-Mar 2018-19.

Pulses import was $53.854 million in Mar 2020, which is up by 47 percent or $17.114 million from $36.740 million in Feb 2019.

The country imported 97,530 metric tonnes of pulses in Mar 2020, higher by 25 percent or 19439 metric tonnes from 78,091 metric tonnes in Mar 2019.
