The most affected age group of deadly coronavirus in the federal capital are young as 160 people between ages of 30 and 39 have so far been tested positive for the Covid-19 in the city.

According to the data shared by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), out of total 679 cases of the Covid-19, 160 people who are tested positive for coronavirus are between the ages of 30 and 39, while 115 patients are between the ages of 40 and 49, 71 are between ages of 50 to 59, 60 patients are between ages of 10 to 19, and 55 patients are between ages 60 to 69.

There are 133 patients between ages of 20 to 29 years, 26 between ages 0 to 9, 13 patients between 70 to 79 years, and eight aged 80 and above.

The main hotspots of the capital include Sector I-10 with 57 cases, Tarlai 45 cases, Bhara Kahu 41 cases, Lohi Bhair 36 cases, 30 cases each from sectors G-11 and I-8.

Similarly, 30 cases have been reported from Sector G-6, 28 from Sector G-8, 24 from Sohan, 22 from Sector I-9, 22 from Shehzad Town, 21 from Sector H-9, 20 from Sector G-13, 20 from Sector G-9, 20 from Sector F-7, 18 from Sector G-10, 18 from Sector G-7, and 17 from Sector F-7.

Another 17 from Sector H-11, 12 from Sector F-6, 12 from Sector H-13, 12 from Rawal Town, and 12 from Sector E-11.

Total number of suspected cases in the capital is 2,203.

The total number of cases in Islamabad reached 679, after 38 more cases were reported on Monday.

According to official data, on May 10, total cases in the city were 641, May 9, 609, May 8, 558, May 7,521, May 6, 485. May 5, 464, May 4, 415, May 3, 393, on May 2, 365 and May 1, 343.

Out of total 679 cases, 72 patients have so far recovered, and six people have died. After extending lockdown imposed in the wake of spread of the Covid-19 till May 31, and exempting some more businesses from lockdown, gross violation of standard operating procedures (SoPs) were observed in the various markets as well as huge rush of vehicles were seen on the city roads.

Following the exemption, shops resumed their business but shopkeepers took no steps to ensure implementation of the SOPs.

According to the notification, some shops and businesses are now allowed to open five days a week from 8am to 5pm, but must close on Saturday and Sunday.

However, larger markets in the residential sectors and commercial areas such as Blue Area, Aabpara, Karachi Company, Super Market, Jinnah Super and Melody Market, restaurants (except takeaway and home delivery), hotels (except takeaway and home delivery), marquees, marriage halls, Cinemas, all hair salon and barber shops will remain closed.

It says that there will also be a ban on public processions and organised sports events.

It says that stores selling steel and PVC pipes, electric appliances, steel and aluminum equipment manufacturers, and paint industries, sanitary fittings, paints, steel and aluminum works and hardware stores have been opened.

All these establishments must adopt the guidelines issued for industrial units and points of sales.
