  • Miandad says unemployed players are thinking to commit suicide after the end of departmental cricket.
  • The ex-captain has suggested PCB to hire more people.

Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has once again lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over its decision to abolish departmental cricket.

The players are thinking of committing suicide because of the closure of departmental cricket, Miandad said while speaking to the media. Miandad is not the first to point out the after effects of PCB’s decision, as earlier, Pakistan’s senior all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez too expressed his concerns over the revamped domestic cricket structure in the country.

“So sad really, like him and many others are suffering, new system will look after 200 players but 1000s of cricketers and management staff are unemployed because of this new model. I don’t know who will take the responsibility of this unemployment of cricket fraternity,” said Hafeez in a tweet post, while sharing a story of cricketer Fazl Subhan.

Meanwhile, Miandad, while speaking about the new head coach's selection, said that the PCB has handed over three posts to Misbah-ul-Haq out of friendship. He added that the PCB is paying millions of rupees to a man whereas they should employ more people. “I have done a PhD in cricket, please contact me and I will give you the solution to every problem,” he said.
