One of the world’s most renowned cricket umpire Aleem Dar grabbed another feat to his credit after he became the most experienced umpire in Test cricket. The second Ashes Test on Thursday, 15 August, proved to be Dar’s 128th Test match as an umpire.

The 51 years old, Pakistani umpire now equals his idol and cricketing world legend Steve Bucknor record, who umpired in equal number of Test matches from 1989 to 2009,

"It's a great honour to equal the number of Test matches of my role model, umpire Steve Bucknor," Dr said in a statement, quoted ICC.

"I am thankful to Almighty God, ICC, PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board), my colleagues, my coaches, my club P&T and especially thanks to my family as without their help it was not easy to achieve this."

Dar is often considered one of the best umpires of the modern game and began his international umpiring career in an ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Gujranwala on 16 February 2000.Since 2003, Dar has performed umpiring duties at all ICC Men's Cricket World Cup events.
