Indian wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni reminded the cricketing world why he is still a legend when it comes to finishing the game, with his match winning knock of 55 runs against Australia, taking his side to level the One Day International (ODI) series three-match series 1-1. 

What was more impressive about the former Indian skipper’s knock was that he scored only 12 runs from boundaries, while the remaining was accumulated through running single, twos and even threes. The 37-year-old running between the wicket, impressed many including Pakistan former captain and wicketkeeper batsman Rashid Latif.

“The best thing we observe about Dhoni is his running between the wicket,” said Latif, while speaking at Caught Behind. Sharing about Dhoni’s technique behind running, Latif explained, “If you are a right hand batsman and you are running carrying your bat with the left hand, you will slow down a bit. Look at Dhoni, the first run he takes while carrying the bat with both hands, whereas, for the second run he carries the bat with his dominant hand that is his right hand, [which] accelerates the speed  and that is why he is such a good runner.”

India claimed a dramatic six-wicket victory over Australia at a sweltering Adelaide Oval on Tuesday and kept the ODI series alive.
