OPC Punjab efforts: expatriate receives Rs 35 million as land price

As a result of the continuous efforts of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, an expatriate has received Rs 35 million as compensation of his land, acquired for construction of a road.
Vice Chairperson OPC Senator Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti informed that Tauqeer Ilyas, settled in Manchester, UK, lodged a complaint that his 17 acres of land have been acquired to construct the Eastern Bypass, Tehsil Ferozewala, District Sheikhupura, compensation of this land may be given to him. This complaint was referred to District Overseas Pakistanis Committee Sheikhupura for further proceedings and with the help of members of DOPC, the Overseas Pakistani received a sum of Rs 35 million as price of his land.
