ISAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed on on Monday that loans to the tune of Rs 3.2 billion have been written off through budgetary support under fiscal relief packages of the government during the period from 2008-09 till date.
The Finance Ministry said in a written reply that Rs 2.10 billion loans of 31,952 borrowers were waived off under the Prime Minister's Relief Package announced in the Kissan Conference 2009 for calamity hit areas of Malakand Division and other areas.
Similarly, loans to the tune of Rs.1.09 billion of 13,463 borrowers were written off under the PM's Fiscal Relief Package to Rehabilitate Economic Life in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and PATA in 2010.
