Low gas pressure irks people

Published December 25, 2017 Updated December 25, 2017 12:00am

Citizens are facing severe problem due to low gas pressure at peak hours which forced them to use LPG in their homes. They urged the authorities concerned to take up the matter of gas shortage and resolve it on priority basis. They said that people were forced to bring their food from restaurants, bakeries and markets in cold weather due to low pressure and gas unavailability.
A resident of Sultan colony, Malik Mehmood said that gas unavailability was creating problems for the people. Another resident of Bismillah Homes, Tahir Shah Bukhari said that his grandchildren were going school for last many days without having breakfast as the gas pressure was not enough to cook at home. When contacted, an official of SNGPL said that load shedding was not being resorted to but the cause of low pressure from main line.
He said that problem would soon be resolved as request had already been forwarded to head office for improving gas pressure. He said that illegal compressor usage was the other main reason which affects the whole line in the street. He urged the citizens to cooperate with the SNGPL for stopping this illegal practice.
