GILGIT: Chief Secretary (CS) Gilgit-Baltistan Saifullah Chattha has assured Diamer-Bhasha dam affectees that they will be paid compensation for their land soon.
The Chief Secretary visited village Thore, Diamer on Sunday where different delegations from Thore and Hudur called on him and demanded to make payment of the land acquired for the dam.
He assured the delegations that the compensation would be paid soon after the funds were released by the Water and Power Development Authority.
Later, Chattha met the relatives of Abdul Wakil, who was killed in Gilgit, and assured them that the culprits would be brought to justice.
The Chief Secretary, on the occasion, also announced compensation and employment for the heirs of deceased.
