Laraib Atah, daughter of famous singer Attaullah Khan Niazi, is Pakistan’s youngest female Visual Effect (VFX) artist who has worked on the new ‘Mission Impossible – Fallout.’

Mission Impossible series starring Tom Cruise is widely watched in Pakistan and Laraib has played a significant role in the movie.

According to Techjuice, the VFX artist achieved a big breakthrough at the age of 19 back in 2006. “Before I started the course I had no idea what VFX is. It’s just I knew this that it is magic for films,” she said in an interview to BBC on July 25.

Speaking about the movies that inspired and motivated her to choose this career, she said, “The first time I watched 'Toy Story' that really inspired me, I was like wow how is this done… I did not know back then that I would get into visual effects but it was in me all this time that something related to art and technology is what I wanted to do”.

Talking about her family, Laraib said that it was extremely tough to explain her work to them but fortunately they supported her to achieve her goals. Laraib added that she wants to become an inspiration for all those Pakistani women yearning to follow their dream goals.

The daughter of famous singer also wants other female Pakistanis to pursue this career. “Back then when I started I was the only girl in the course and the youngest and of course the only Pakistani. The goal is to get more women, young people into this, and more Pakistanis,” she said.

Laraib has also showcased her talent in other blockbuster Hollywood movies such as X-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla, Gravity, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Prince Caspian, 10, 000 BC and Johnny Depp’s Sweeney Todd.
