KARACHI: President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mian Abrar Ahmad, has urged Ambassador of Republic of Azerbaijan, Dashgin Shikarov, to help establish Pakistan-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber.
In a communication, he said that KCCI was committed to bring together the business communities of the regional countries with a vision to establish joint chambers.
"With the efforts of KCCI, Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber has been formed and efforts are underway to establish Bombay-Karachi Joint Chamber," he added.
He was of the view that economic relation between Central Asian Republics and SAARC countries would bring economic revolution to the region.
"Azerbaijan by taking advantage of geostrategic location of Pakistan can export its consignments through Gwadar and other ports of Karachi to SAARC, ASEAN and GCC countries," he added.
He opined that the future lies in Asia as the economies of Asian countries were developing at a rapid pace.
He called for allowing economic independence to Pakistan by the developed economies, which they had allowed to other regional countries.
He invited Azerbaijan to invest in the oil and gas exploration sector in Pakistan and highlighted the potentials of trade in agricultural value-added products.
