Spot cash basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady to 15 cents firmer in the US Plains on Monday as harvest progress was expected to pick up this week. The basis at two Kansas locations rose 10-15 cents a bushel. Rains over the weekend in the top growing state of Kansas slowed harvest progress, but merchants said cutting might be able to resume Monday as fields dry out. Protein premiums for railcar wheat to or through Kansas City were unchanged. K.C. July wheat traded at $7.17-1/4 per bushel early Monday.
