CJ takes notice on deduction of high amount of tax charges by mobile companies

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of the unreasonable and high amount of tax/other charges being deducted on the topping up of balance through easy load and calling cards.

The notice was taken on the grave complaints by the public, said a press release issued by the SC on Thursday.

Taking notice of the issue, the chief justice issued notice to the Attorney General for Pakistan to explain on the next date of hearing as to how much and what amount is being deducted or taxed on a calling card/easy load of Rs. 100/.

Besides, that Federal Board of Revenue and all the Mobile Phone Companies in Pakistan have also been issued notices to explain the same.

The matter has been fixed for hearing before a regular Bench on 08.05.2018.
