KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Wednesday held a meeting with Austrian Honorary Consul General Dr Hussain Islam at Governor House.

They discussed wide range of bilateral issues specially trade, investment and avenues for expanding economic cooperation.

Austrian artists Robert Pawlik and Michaela Rabitsch and Toshna Patel, CEO of Alhamd International Container Terminal, also attended the meeting.

The participants explored opportunities to attract foreign investment and promote business activity in Karachi. Governor Hashmi assured foreign investors and business representatives of the Sindh government’s support and cooperation in facilitating investment and commercial ventures.

The Governor also highlighted the role of cultural exchanges in bringing nations and communities closer.

“Music knows no borders. It connects hearts and cultures, and provides a powerful means of promoting friendship, harmony and mutual understanding among nations,” he said.

Hashmi said Pakistan was home to diverse religions, languages and cultures and that every individual had the right to live in peace and security.

Dr Hussain Islam said Pakistan and Austria shared a desire to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Pawlik praised the hospitality of the Pakistani people, saying their warmth and cuisine had made a strong impression on the visiting delegation.

Rabitsch said Pakistan’s rich culture, friendly people and hospitality had made her visit a memorable experience and expressed a desire to visit the country in future.
