RAWALPINDI: Security forces and police have killed 49 terrorists in intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
According to military’s media wing, in a determined effort to eliminate terrorist threats and dismantle the Khwarij and terrorist networks, over the last few days, security forces conducted a series of high tempo joint intelligence driven operations along with Police, as part of relentless counter terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian Proxies, Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan.
As per ISPR, these operations have yielded major successes, inflicting significant blows to the terrorist networks killing forty nine terrorists/ Khwarij and effectively thwarting any attempt to undermine peace and stability.
According to the military’s media wing, 12 militants belonging to India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij were killed in operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while 37 terrorists belonging to India-backed Fitna al-Hindustan were eliminated in Balochistan.
Security forces and police conducted intelligence-based operations in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts.
The operations resulted in the deaths of 12 militants, while a large quantity of explosives, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), IED detonating remotes, weapons and ammunition was recovered, the ISPR said.
In Balochistan, security forces carried out 10 intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur, killing 37 terrorists.
The operations also led to the recovery of a large quantity of weapons, explosive drums and remote detonation devices, according to the ISPR.
The military said security forces had effectively struck terrorist networks and that clearance and sanitisation operations were continuing in the affected areas.
It added that the forces were pursuing remaining militants and would continue operations until the elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism.
The ISPR said counterterrorism operations would continue with full momentum under the government-approved Azm-e-Istehkam framework.
It reiterated that security forces remained resolute in the fight against terrorism and would continue efforts to dismantle militant networks.
