PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports for the 2025/26 season had reached 22.38 million metric tons by June 14, up from 22.05 million the previous week and 7 percent above the same stage of the 2024/25 season, European Commission data showed on Tuesday.
Romania was the leading EU soft wheat exporter with 7.10 million tons, followed by France with 5.50 million, Poland with 3.10 million, Germany with 2.21 million and Lithuania with 2.06 million.
However, the Commission said export data were not complete for France since the beginning of calendar year 2024, for Bulgaria and Ireland since the beginning of marketing year 2023/24, and for Greece since January 2026. EU barley exports for 2025/26 rose to 8.61 million tons, against 8.57 million tons the previous week and up 83 percent from the same period last year.
EU maize imports for 2025/26 stood at 17.22 million tons, up 0.19 million tons from the previous week and 10 percent below a year earlier.
