PESHAWAR: District administration Peshawar has taken notice of arbitrary increase in LPG prices and arrested 67 shopkeepers for exorbitant prices and 53 shops were also sealed.
In view of the instructions of the provincial government and the protection of public interest, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain Sanaullah Khan (retd) took strict notice of the arbitrary increase in prices by some LPG shopkeepers in the provincial capital Peshawar and issued instructions to the administrative officers to immediately conduct a special crackdown against LPG shops across Peshawar.
On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, administrative officers conducted a detailed inspection of LPG shops and markets in various areas including Tehsil City, Shah Alam, Saddar and Tehsil Matni.
During the operations, the official LPG price lists, prices, measurement, storage and other related matters were reviewed while information regarding prices was also obtained from the public.
During the inspections, several shopkeepers were found to have failed to display the official price lists while several shopkeepers were caught charging more than the fixed official price.
