KARACHI: Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Bashir Ahmed Farooqui, supervised the collective Qurbani operation throughout all three days of Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaking to media representatives on Friday after the completion of meat distribution on the third day, he thanked all individuals who participated in the collective sacrifice and said that participation in Saylani’s collective Qurbani had increased by approximately 15 percent this year from both Pakistan and overseas. More than 1,000 shares were contributed from Türkiye alone.

He stated that on the appeal of fishermen, several tons of meat were also dispatched to the coastal belt of Manora this year. Ten refrigerated container trucks were utilized for the transportation of meat, while over 4,000 volunteers managed Qurbani arrangements at more than 225 locations across cities, rural areas, and towns nationwide.

Maulana Bashir Farooqui said that due to the prevailing economic conditions, it is becoming increasingly difficult for an ordinary person to perform individual Qurbani, which is why the trend of collective sacrifice is rapidly growing.

Under the banner of Saylani Welfare International Trust, meat from approximately 50,000 shares was distributed this year. Around 45 percent of the meat was received by shareholders, while the remaining 55 percent was distributed among millions of poor, deserving, white-collar, and underprivileged families across Pakistan so they could also share in the joys of Eid.
