Russia signs agreement to build nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan

ASTANA: Russia signed an ​agreement on Thursday ‌with Kazakhstan on building ​a nuclear ​power plant in Central ⁠Asia’s largest ​country.

The agreement was ​signed during a visit by Russian ​President Vladimir ​Putin who met Kazakhstan’s ‌president, ⁠Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The parties also signed an agreement ​on ​the ⁠provision of a ​Russian export ​credit ⁠to finance the construction of ⁠the ​plant.
