BUENOS AIRES: Argentina’s 2025/26 soybean harvest is expected to reach 50.1 million tons, up from the previously estimated 48.6 million tons, thanks to higher-than-expected yields as the harvest progresses, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange said on Thursday.
The exchange also increased corn output forecast by 3 million tons to a record 64 million tons, driven by an upward revision to planted area.
Soy harvest stands at 74.7percent of the suitable area of harvesting nationally, the exchange said in its weekly crop report. Argentina is the world’s largest exporter of soybean oil and meal Average soy yield of 32.8 quintals (3.28 tons) per hectare — the highest in six growing seasons, the exchange said. Soybean harvest also benefited from favourable rainfall throughout much of the growing season. Corn harvest 32.9percent complete, the exchange said. Argentina is the world’s third-largest corn exporter.
