ISLAMABAD: Proceedings of the National Assembly on Tuesday could not continue due to a lack of quorum after a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pointed it out, disrupting the smooth functioning of the House.

PTI members Mohammed Iqbal Khan Afridi and Shahid Ahmed Khattak frequently raise the issue, after which the Speaker often suspends proceedings for 20 to 30 minutes due to an incomplete quorum.
On Tuesday, Shahid Ahmed Khattak pointed out the quorum immediately after Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah took up the first agenda item — a calling attention notice regarding the non-completion of the KIV Project despite huge expenditures incurred on it.
Following the quorum call, the Deputy Speaker ordered a headcount of members present in the House. After the counting, the quorum was found incomplete, leading the Chair to suspend proceedings until the required number of members could be ensured.
After a break of around 20 minutes, the House resumed its sitting, and another headcount was conducted. However, the quorum was still incomplete, forcing the Deputy Speaker to adjourn the session until Wednesday at 11:00 am.
