No targeted deportations of Pakistanis from UAE, says interior ministry
- Ministry says it has reviewed the available data and found no evidence to support claims
The Ministry of Interior on Friday dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media and on social media about alleged targeted deportations of Pakistani nationals from the United Arab Emirates, calling them “malafide” and part of a “vicious propaganda campaign.”
In a statement, the ministry said it had reviewed the available data and found no evidence to support claims that any country, including the UAE, was carrying out nationality- or sect-specific deportations.
It clarified that deportations, when they occur, are part of routine procedures implemented by host countries in accordance with their legal systems.
These typically involve violations of immigration laws, such as overstaying visas or holding incomplete or illegal documentation.

The ministry further noted that Pakistani nationals who meet visa and employment requirements continue to travel to and secure work opportunities in the UAE and other friendly countries without discrimination.
Rejecting what it described as “fake news,” the ministry said such reports were being spread with malicious intent to serve ulterior motives.
It added that any issues involving Pakistani citizens abroad are addressed on a case-by-case basis through established diplomatic channels by the Foreign Office.
