Dr. Kiran Khurshid said that the wheat procurement process is ongoing at a fast pace, adding that Rs133 million have been transferred to farmers’ accounts within 72 hours.

She further said that farmers are submitting their details at nearby procurement centres to obtain bardana, with priority being given to Kisan Card holders and small farmers. Wheat procurement will continue on Sundays and public holidays to facilitate farmers.

She added that payments for procured wheat are being transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts within 72 hours. Monitoring committees at provincial and divisional levels are overseeing the procurement process, while staff of the Special Monitoring Unit (SMU), established by the Chief Minister Punjab, are present to address complaints on the spot.
