KARACHI: The APNS expresses its gratitude to the Government of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and in particular to Muzamil Aslam, Advisor Finance for releasing an amount of Rs.40 crores being payment of long outstanding dues on the demand of APNS.

Senator Sarmad Ali, President and Shahab Zuberi, Vice President APNS had held a meeting with Advisor Finance Muzamil Aslam last month in Karachi and had apprised him of the issue of long outstanding dues of member publications against advertisements of KP Government.

The Advisor Finance had kindly assured to resolve the issue on priority and had accorded approval of payment of Rs.80 crores out of which Rs.40 crores will be released immediately while the remaining Rs.40 crores will be paid in June.

The APNS office bearers expressed their gratitude to Muzamil Aslam for honouring his assurance which is highly appreciated by the newspaper industry suffering grossly due to non-payment of dues.

They also appreciated Syed Haroon Shah, Chairman, KP Provincial Committee of the APNS for his efforts in the release of the committed amount by KP Government.
