KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister—holding portfolios of Information, Transport, and Mass Transit— Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday announced to launch a new EV bus route starting today.
In a statement, the Senior Minister said that the Transport Department was introducing a new eco-friendly EV bus route from Tuesday. A large number of citizens are expected to benefit from this initiative.
He stated that the new electric bus route will operate from Gulshan-e-Maymar to Tower, covering a distance of 32 kilometers. This route would provide residents of Gulshan-e-Maymar, Surjani Town, and surrounding areas with easy access to the city centre. The launch will offer modern, comfortable, and affordable travel options to millions of Karachi residents.
He emphasized that the Sindh government was taking practical steps to provide quality, environment-friendly public transport, more routes of EV bus service would also be introduced in the near future.
He said that improving public transport in a big city like Karachi was among the priorities of the government, modern electric buses were a part of the vision of the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership and the Sindh government.
