Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 128 runs in rain-hit 2nd ODI

Pakistan thumped Bangladesh by 128 runs via the DLS method in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday, leveling the series 1-1 with a dominant all-round performance.

The standout performance came from Pakistan’s young all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat, whose explosive innings set the tone for the visitors. Sadaqat smashed 75 off just 46 balls, striking six fours and five sixes at a blistering strike rate of over 163.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan contributed 31, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan scored a steady 44. Salman Agha later anchored the innings with a well-compiled 64 off 62 balls, helping Pakistan push past the 270 mark despite a cluster of late wickets.

For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two wickets while Rishad Hossain picked up three.

Chasing a revised target of 243 in 32 overs, Bangladesh collapsed under disciplined Pakistani bowling and were bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs.

Only Litton Das showed resistance with 41 runs, while Towhid Hridoy added 28, but the hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Pakistan’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Haris Rauf and Sadaqat taking three wickets each, while captain Shaheen Shah Afridi struck early with two crucial scalps.

Interestingly, Bangladesh’s total of 114 was identical to the score Pakistan were bowled out for in the first ODI, highlighting a dramatic turnaround by the visitors in the second match.

Earlier, Bangladesh had thrashed Pakistan by eight wickets in the first ODI. The third and final ODI will be played on Sunday at the same venue.
