TOKYO: Japanese shares fell on Friday, after a one-day respite, as renewed concern over conflict in the Middle East prompted investors to sell risk assets.
The Nikkei 225 Index was down 0.8% at 54,829.16 as of 0004 GMT, on track for its steepest weekly percentage loss in almost a year.
The broader Topix slid 1% to 3,664.52.
There were 33 advancers on the Nikkei index against 136 decliners.
