CM Afridi directs ministers to hold monthly ‘e-open courts’

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Suhail Afridi on Sunday directed all provincial ministers and advisors to initiate monthly e-open courts within their respective departments.

The initiative, launched under the “Awam Ka Ehsaas” framework, aims to provide citizens with direct access to authority figures, thereby restoring public trust and ensuring a transparent resolution of grievances, the chief minister said in a statement.

The directive extends to 23 provincial departments and 69 associated autonomous or semi-autonomous institutions, with all administrative secretaries and field officers mandated to begin these regular digital sessions starting March 1.

To ensure the programme’s success and consistency, a special awareness session regarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for these e-open courts will be hosted at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

CM Afridi emphasised that these sessions are a cornerstone of his strategy to make public communication more effective and to promote the core values of good governance and impartiality. Under this new system, departments are not only bound to address complaints on time but will also face quarterly performance reviews to ensure accountability at every level.

By utilising this digital platform, KP government intends to take prompt action on public issues at both administrative and policy levels, CM Afridi said. The CM believes that these e-open courts will serve as an essential tool for identifying systemic hurdles and delivering justice directly to the people.

“This proactive approach is expected to streamline the grievance redressal process, making provincial administration more responsive to immediate needs of its citizens,” he said.
