10th Faiz Festival concludes

Published February 16, 2026 Updated February 16, 2026 04:22am

LAHORE: In a resplendent culmination of intellect, artistry, and collective memory, the final day of the 10th Faiz Festival transformed Alhamra, Lahore Arts Council, into a grand confluence of ideas, culture, and conscience, an embodiment of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s timeless vision of hope, resistance, and human dignity. The concluding day stood not merely as the end of a festival but as a reaffirmation of Faiz’s enduring relevance in an ever-evolving world.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz remains one of the most luminous voices of the twentieth century—his poetry a rare synthesis of romance and revolution, tenderness and defiance. His vision was rooted in social justice, human equality, and an unshakeable belief in democratic ideals. He wrote of love not as escapism but as resistance; of homeland not as territory alone but as a moral promise. In the darkest chapters of political repression, Faiz articulated hope, declaring that dawn inevitably follows night. His wisdom lay in transforming suffering into strength and exile into universal belonging.

The day opened at 10:30 am in Hall 1 with a graceful dance performance by Lahore Grammar School. This vibrant presentation infused youthful energy into the literary landscape and set a refined tone for the day’s proceedings.
