ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Friday that the “detailed” medical reports of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan have been handed over to his family.

In a post on social media platform X, the minister said the development came after PTI leaders again approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan seeking Khan’s medical report and visitation rights for his personal doctors and family members.

Tarar noted that National Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai had written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the medical check-up of “Imran Ahmad Niazi,” who is serving his sentences in Central Jail Rawalpindi.

“On directions from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), a detailed report has been sent by the executive director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences hospital to the superintendent of Central Jail, Rawalpindi (Adiala), which has been handed over to the family,” the minister said.

PTI has maintained that Khan requires assessment by doctors of his choice and has repeatedly sought court intervention to ensure access for family members and personal physicians. The government, however, has insisted that all medical protocols are being followed and that Khan is receiving appropriate care while in custody.
