LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (R.A.) is a great centre of spiritual peace, tolerance, and harmony. Serving the devotees who visit this sacred place is a collective national responsibility. He emphasised that ensuring maximum facilities, security, cleanliness, and convenience for devotees is a top priority of the government, and all possible resources are being utilised to preserve the sanctity, historical heritage, and spiritual environment of Data Darbar.
He expressed these views during his visit to the Shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (R.A.) recently. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with family members, also accompanied him.
The former PM further stated that millions of devotees from across the country and abroad visit Data Darbar every year, and the government is fully committed to providing modern facilities to visitors while ensuring that the religious and cultural significance of the shrine remains fully intact.
Earlier, Mian Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar offered Fateha, laid a chadar, and presented flowers at the shrine. They prayed for the peace, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the country and the nation.
On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that the expansion and development of Data Darbar is a landmark project aimed at facilitating millions of devotees. He added that such initiatives reflect the government’s vision of preserving religious heritage while providing improved and modern services to the public.
Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta warmly welcomed the distinguished guests. Director General Auqaf Shahid Kalyani, Administrator Muhammad Ali Khan, and other officers and managers were also present on the occasion.
Dr Ehsan Bhutta briefed the former PM Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in detail about the expansion project and the latest development progress.
Nawaz Sharif and Dar expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the work. They appreciated the efforts of Secretary Auqaf Dr Ehsan Bhutta and his entire team, and thanked them for their dedication and commitment towards the timely completion of this important project.
