ISLAMABAD: The federal government has directed the government of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) to adopt and immediately operationalize Gilgit Cardiac Hospital, situated in Jutail area of the regional capital.
Gilgit Cardiac Hospital is the premier and only dedicated cardiac hospital in the region for a population of more than 2 million. The federal government has directed the chief secretary of G-B to respond with a comprehensive plan within three days. The government wants to ensure comprehensive cardiac care, advanced diagnostics, and treatment technologies, including angiography machines, a CT scan unit, and a radio fluoroscopy system.
According to an official communique issued from the Prime Minister of Pakistan Office (PMO) states, “request for adoption of Gilgit Cardiac Hospital and Establishment of Satellite Cath Labs of NICVD or PIC in Baltistan and Diamer regions of the G-B”.
