KARACHI: Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan attended the 8th Pakistan Edible Oil Conference (PEOC-26) as the chief guest at a hotel here on Saturday.

Addressing the conference, the federal minister appreciated the organizers and all participants for successfully convening a forum that brings together key stakeholders of the edible oil and seed sector.

He commended the Pakistan Edible Oil Refiners Association and Seed Association for their efforts in promoting dialogue and cooperation in this vital industry.

He highlighted the visit of the President of Indonesia to Pakistan, terming it a very positive and productive engagement with Pakistani stakeholders. He expressed optimism that Pakistan’s long-standing relations with Indonesia would further strengthen through enhanced bilateral trade, particularly in palm oil and other commodities. He also noted Indonesia’s keen interest in expanding trade cooperation with Pakistan in rare earth minerals.

Jam stated that Pakistan has enjoyed long-term and friendly relations with Indonesia, which have been further reinforced through trade agreements.

He remarked that edible oil and oilseed provide an excellent foundation to further expand economic cooperation, build resilient supply chains, increase investment, and reduce delivery time lines.
