KARACHI: The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Chandra W Sukotjo, along with the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, Mudzakir, MA, officially welcomed the arrival of the Vice Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, on Thursday.

The arrival of the Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade is part of a series of working visits to Pakistan in the framework of strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations between Indonesia and Pakistan, as well as supporting the increase of exports of Indonesia’s flagship products to the Pakistani market.

During her stay in Karachi, the Vice Minister of Trade is scheduled to attend and be part of several strategic agendas, including the Indonesian Palm Oil Networking Reception, participation in the Pakistan Edible Oil Conference (PEOC), as well as a series of bilateral meetings with Pakistani government stakeholders and business actors. These agendas are expected to open new cooperation opportunities, expand market access, and strengthen Indonesia’s position as a main partner for Pakistan, especially in the palm oil sector, food products, and other leading commodities.

The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi emphasized the readiness of the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi to fully support the entire series of activities of the Vice Minister of Trade, including the facilitation of business meetings, promotion of Indonesian products, as well as strengthening relations with major associations and importers in Pakistan.

The presence of the Vice Minister in Karachi is also expected to provide a positive boost for the improvement of the image and trust in Indonesian products in the Pakistani market.
