KARACHI: An important meeting was held, here on Monday, to review the performance of the institutions working under Sindh Rehabilitation Department.
Chaired by Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Rehabilitation Gianchand Israni at the PDMA headquarters, the meeting was attended by Secretary Rehabilitation Nisar Ahmed Memon, DG Rescue 1122 Wajid Subghatullah Mehar, Director Admin and Finance PDMA Shah Hussain Shah, Director Mobile Diagnostic and Emergency Healthcare Services Dr. Khansa and other senior officers.
The meeting also discussed in detail the SNE 2025-26, ADP schemes, job vacancies, budget issues, assembly questions and public complaints. In the meeting, the heads of all institutions gave a detailed briefing on the performance, achievements, challenges and future plans of their respective departments in the year 2025.
In the meeting, Director General Wajid Subghatullah Mehar briefed that Rescue 1122 responded to millions of medical emergencies, fires, drowning, road accidents and other incidents in a timely manner during 2025, while training was also provided to more than 36,000 people.
About PDMA, it was told that during the 2025 floods, timely warning, establishment of control rooms, availability of relief materials and effective distribution measures in the districts played a significant role in preventing major losses.
The meeting was also briefed on the provision of free treatment, medicines and diagnostic facilities to millions of patients in remote areas through mobile health units.
On this occasion, Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh Gianchand Israni issued instructions and said that no negligence in public service will be tolerated. Timely supply of medicines, monitoring of mobile units and rescue services, complete transparency of data and records should be ensured.
The officers were directed to immediately obtain a complete record of relief materials used and distributed in the districts during the 2025 floods from the Deputy Commissioners.
The Rehabilitation Advisor announced sending a summary to the Chief Secretary Sindh on the shortage of fire tenders for Rescue 1122, personally visiting the ongoing projects in Mirpurkhas and inspecting all warehouses in January 2026.
Israni further said that the main objective of the Rehabilitation Department is to provide relief to the people before, during and after disasters. And Sindh government is utilizing all resources to protect the lives and property of the people.
At the end of the meeting, all the agenda items were approved and the departments were directed to further improve their performance.
