KARACHI: A fire erupted at an oil terminal in the Keamari area near Jackson Oil Terminal on Monday afternoon, engulfing three empty tankers before being extinguished by firefighting teams, officials confirmed.

According to a spokesperson for the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), the Fire department received information about the blaze at 2:00 pm. KPT fire personnel immediately rushed to the scene and called for additional fire tenders to assist in controlling the flames.

“Our fire crew reached the spot promptly and managed to extinguish the fire within 35 minutes,” the KPT spokesperson said, adding that cooling operations are currently underway at the site.

Police officials confirmed that the fire affected three empty oil tankers in the Jackson Oil area. Police personnel and fire brigade teams remain present at the location to monitor the situation. “The fire has been brought under control, and fortunately, no casualties have been reported,” a Keamari police official stated.
