FAISALABAD: Minister of State for National Food Security and Research Malik Rasheed Ahmed Khan has said that agriculture can be revolutionised by bringing modern trends, including biotechnology to the doorsteps of farming community.
He stated this while addressing the inaugural session of the three-day BSP Biotechnology Congress held at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
The congress was organised by the Biotechnology Society of Pakistan (BSP), Centre of Agricultural Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
He said that the government was taking all possible measures to address the agrarian challenges and for the uplift of the sector. He urged the scientists to come up with modern technology in agriculture to deal with challenges like climate change and environmental problems. He said that biotechnology is a key science that plays a vital role in ensuring agricultural prosperity.
