FAISALABAD: A joint mock exercise was conducted at the Government College University Faisalabad in collaboration with Police Station Gulberg, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and other law enforcement agencies to enhance preparedness for emergency situations.

The exercise aimed to assess the readiness and coordination of security teams in responding to potential terrorism threats, the presence of suspicious individuals, and other emergency scenarios. According to the mock emergency call, reports of suspicious persons within the university premises triggered an immediate and well-coordinated response operation.

Faisalabad Police, Elite Force, Special Branch, Security Branch, Countre Terrorism Department (CTD), Bomb Disposal Squad, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and allied agencies participated in the exercise, demonstrating rapid action and effective crisis management.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam appreciated the support of law enforcement bodies, stating that such exercises not only strengthen institutional capability but also play a vital role in maintaining a peaceful and secure campus environment. He added that the university will continue conducting similar training activities to ensure prompt and effective responses to any emergency situation.

The GCUF spokesperson said the primary objective of the drill was to ensure that the university’s security teams and concerned agencies are fully prepared to counter unpredictable or emergency situations and neutralize any potential threat of terrorism through timely and coordinated action.
