LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that there will be zero tolerance for bribery, misconduct or abuse within PERA Force, adding that all field operations will now be recorded through Body Cams.
Chairing a special meeting regarding Punjab Enforcement and Regulator Authority (PERA), the CM reviewed performance, monitoring system and proposed reforms for PERA Force.
She received a detailed briefing from officials concerned and approved several key decisions aimed at improving service delivery and public trust.
The Chief Minister directed that installation of Body Cams should be completed as soon as possible to ensure transparency and accountability. She underscored that in order to further strengthen operational capacity of PERA Force, special training sessions for PERA personnel will be launched. She also announced introduction of electric vehicles for PERA Force to ensure fast, safe and environmentally friendly service for citizens in the province. Additionally, she granted in-principle approval for establishing a state-of-the-art PERA Training Centre.
In her message to PERA officials, Chief Minister emphasized that enforcement of law must be ensured under any circumstance and further directed PERA Force personnel that their interaction with the public must always remain polite, friendly and dignified. She lauded that PERA Force is performing well, but urged it to work with greater focus on attaining positive results to earn goodwill among the people. She added, “Those who create ease and provide service to the public are always remembered by history.”
