LAHORE: In line with the federal government’s zero-tolerance policy, the Lahore Electric Supply Company’s (LESCO) recovery and anti-theft teams have intensified their crackdown on power pilferers, recovering Rs20.215 million during the ongoing campaign.
According to LESCO officials, the Company carried out operation with the support of police and Rangers, apart from taking swift and strict action on all complaints received regarding electricity theft. From November 1 to November 15, 2025, LESCO received a total of 1,689 theft-related complaints, comprising 1,685 domestic, one commercial, one agricultural, and two industrial cases.
The Company submitted requests for more than 1,658 FIRs, of which 845 have been registered so far. During the crackdown, LESCO teams detected electricity theft amounting to 1,762,400 units and recovered Rs10.215 million from offenders.
LESCO Chief Executive Ramzan Butt reiterated the company’s firm stance on the issue, saying, “Electricity thieves are, in fact, thieves of the nation, and we are neither scared of them nor will we bow before them.”
He added that LESCO’s policy is unequivocal; electricity theft will not be tolerated at any level, and strict action under the zero-tolerance framework will continue against all defaulters and individuals involved in power theft.
